the world is going the other way, making things smaller. i Guess they just want manufacturing to be easier/cheaper lol 

IMO it's a bit dumb to consider it as a new format... as ATX PSUs, longer or shorter PSUs might or might not fit into some cases

The thing is that SFX-L is just big enough to fit a 120mm fan instead of the 92mm on normal SFX. Which makes them a lot quieter. I think SFX-L should be new standard for small form factor PSUs.
