Noctua NH-D14 Question

Sup guys, Ive been looking at the Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler instead of the H100I seeing as my case won't fit it plus the fans so ive had to look else where, I came across this Noctua NH-D14 and the reviews seem pretty good, what's your guys opinion on this cpu cooler and is it out dated already or would it be a good swap compared to a h100i on a I5 3570K, Thanks!

Very good cooler indeed, i own one myself.

Make sure you have enough clearance on the side panel of your case however.

I installed it in an Antec 1200 and there's like 1cm between the cooler and my side panel :D

Also, you will obviously need low profile ram if you want to install it.

Yeah ive got the Zalman Z11 and with the domed window it should easily fit and I have the low profile corsair vengeance DDR3 ram so should be ok :)

That's slightly incorrect that "you need" low-profile RAM. It depends on the motherboard you are using. It's a good thing to have low-profile RAM though, when installing these coolers. :)

U avin a giggle m8?

the NH-D14 is an excellent solution to any of the AIO liquid coolers.

i have two of them and they are awesome coolers. quiet and hold

a hot loaded chip overclock really well in a closed case. but not all

cases/mobo/RAM combos work..

The D14 is a very good cooler if you want to overclock and don't have to use liquid coolers. For this cooler, be sure you have enough clearance between the ram and the cpu fan. Make sure also your case supports the height of that cooler.

Sorry to butt in here, but what about the h80i. I'm in a similar situation, I got a h100i but it didn't fit in my case, so I'm looking at the h80i, the Phanteks PH-TC14PE and the Noctua NH-D14. I'm mostly looking for the quietest option because I do lots of audio recordings near my PC and don't care much about looks and temps as my case doesn't have a window and I only push a 4.6GHz OC.

if you cant use a 240 style rad AIO, then opt for the NH-D14, TC14PE, or Silver Arrow.

the amount of money spent to actual appreciation and performance the air-cooler has

it. the single fan rad systems i think are not all that and can be close to, but for the dollar

the air-cooler over H50/60/70/80/90/X40...

The NH-D14 is basically the most baller air cooler out there (though perhaps tied with a few others). Just be sure to get some low profile memory and make sure your case has enough clearance for the tower and you should be fine!
