I recently got an asus dg audio card but so far i dont belive that i can use it though because i dont think my motherboard being the asrock z87 oc forumla has the right pci for it. Can someone please confirm that i can not use this please?

Unfortunately your motheboard doesn't have any PCI slots, only PCI-e. They aren't cross compatible so you won't be able to use the card with your PC.

 

If you bought the card very recently you should be able to return it for a refund (if you haven't opened it or if your chosen retailer is nice enough).

Nope, it isn't compatible. The audio card uses a normal PCI x8 slot. 

Your motherboard only has PCI-e lanes and PCI x1 slots.

It's a pci sound card and you only have pci-ex1 and pci-e slots.

What do you think?
