Got the strix 970 that Linus reviewed I while back, but the graphics on it keeps on being rather odd. I have played games like witcher 3 and far cry 4, which runs smoothly with all settings turned on ultra, but it does not look nice. In both games, the graphics is far from smooth, and it is actually quite ugly. Am I doing the settings wrong? Is there something wrong with the drivers? It's my first pc-build, and I'm quite confused.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day!

So you say it runs smooth, but it is far from smooth?

What display connections do you use and are you running a comptuer monitor or a TV?

What resolution is the display and what resolution settings are you using?

Have you tried installing newest drivers?

Did you do a clean Windows installation or just booted from your previous installation?

@mads11 Please make sure to follow your own posts so you know when people reply.

Also, we need some better explanations and possibly screenshots to help you out. I suspect Witcher 3 and Far Cry 4 would not run great for too long with ultra settings on a single 970. If you are using MSAA aliasing then you are definitely going to have some hiccups.

Make sure that the video cable is connected to the GPU and not the motherboard.

Did you by any chance have AMD graphics card previously?

Please make sure to uninstall any and all graphics drivers from the system (google for something like GPU driver wipe)

Install newest drivers from nVidia.com

See if you still have the problem

The 970, unfortunately, has it's limits.  Turn down things like anti aliasing, shadow quality... try to leave textures maxed.  Play with the settings until you get a "smooth" experience.

Thank you, that is beautiful and all, but you see the thing is this particular person is has perfectly acceptable frame rate the problem is with picture quality which can often be observed as blurry image or discoloration.

Thank you for the effor though (:

I had yes I will try that!

Also, do you experience any of the quality issues while at Desktop, does the text look clear?

How about looking at photos or watching a movie?

I mean that it's high enough framerates, but not smooth graphics

It's high enough I suppose (:

and if you would re-read the first post you would note that the keyword used was "ugly graphics"

I'm surprised no one's asked for a screenshot yet. Can you show us what this looks like? I think it's going to be necessary in order for us to figure out what's happening.

Don't be so surprised. Posts #3 and #5 asked for screenshots. We just haven't seen anything yet.
