SSD question...

Go to solution Solved by Reuben,

You can clone a drive that way, but if you're moving to a new system and switching to SSD, it isn't recommended. You would be best off installing Windows, drivers, and your programs fresh on your new PC and then you can easily copy your games from /Steam/SteamApps/common/

Hello, I'm building my first PC in a couple of months i would like to know if i can buy an SSD, connect it to my laptop via a USB 3.0 adapter and put windows OS onto it. Does this method work? and can i also put my games and some other programs onto an SSD this way? I know about installing windows using a boot-able USB drive but can i use this method with an SSD and transfer my games across at the same time? Thank you in advance.
