I was looking into actually paying for my OS as opposed to my 'ol friend piratebay's offer. I found G2A as my best bet since I spent most of my money on the parts for my first build. I will use their "G2A Shield" (if the code is used/invalid,etc. they will take care of it for you). I was wondering if I would still get the free upgrade to Windows 10 and if anyone has had bad experiences with these guys in the past. It can't be that bad as long as I get the shield.. right?...(btw I am looking to buy the key for Windows 8.1 and just making a bootable thumb drive w/ the ISO from my 8 gb usb drive)

I haven't had any bad experiences with them before. I hope the same for you, I hear their customer support is hellish at best.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Should be fine as long as you use the G2A Shield, though I myself used Microsoft software swap on reddit and it worked perfect.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

Is there any type of insurance (similar to the G2A Shield)?

Not really, but theres verified users that have threads where you can see comments form users that got their key from them + it worked. The guy I bought from had a thread with dozens of comments. My copy works great, no problems yet.

That's the thread of the guy I bought from.
