Hi all,

So I'm new to overclocking so I apologize in advance if I say anything dumb.

I have a 4670k which I've OC'd to 4.2 ghz. I left the voltage to auto which seems to max out at 1.118V. I've had this OC for a few months now and its ran perfectly fine and stable (from what I found online, seems this cpu turned out to be a pretty good overclocker). And that is all I did for my OC (change multiplier to 42, left voltage setting on auto).

However, the past few days, for some reason HWMonitor has been recording that my voltage peaks at almost 4.3 ghz with no voltage increase. This has never happened before (usually peaked at 4199 mhz which is what I set my multiplier to). I checked the multiplier and it is still 42. At first I didn't pay any attention to it but I BSOD'd for the first time EVER on this computer which leads me to believe this has something to due with the frequency going beyond what I set it to without the extra juice to keep it stable. Has anyone had this problem before where the frequency goes above the set value? I downclocked my cpu now to 4.1 ghz to see if that helps and noticed that the frequency still goes above the set value, except this time to near 4.2 ghz.

Any info would be appreciated.
