AMD gpu drivers

So i just got an r9 290 and i am going to install the amd catalyst software and when i install it said failed to load detection driver. I install there windows 8.1 64 bit verison which i have. How do i solve this?

what do i extract? like what file cause i extraxted my downloads and started the amd catalyst thing and i still got the same message

Just extract all. It should just be an .exe and maybe a Readme.txt file. Run the .exe and stuff then try reinstalling the AMD drivers when it's done.

The file should just be able to run itself and extract itself. Least that's what it did on my machine.

Check for any Windows updates and install them if you have any, reboot and try again.

 

I'm not sure what else could be the problem.

ok since that didn't work is there anywhere you could lead me to help so i can install the amd catalyst?

They're fairly active on social media. You can try tweeting them or just calling them.

 

What I would do is call your card's manufacturer first (Sapphire, Gigabyte, etc) and see if they know something since no one else is responding here.

 

I'd like to help more but the AMD rig that I have isn't being used by me personally, so I'm not aware of a fix.

My 280 had some issues all I could do was set a custom install of the drivers, and only selecting the AMD Display Driver, restarted, then did install again, with the rest like CCC and the like..
