12gb installed 8gb usable

Dont know what to do, i try a lot of things. The ram works fine with two 4gb, but when i add a third 4gb it gave me that.
The motherboard supports 24gb.

check it is in right channel and seated correctly.

read what @Cazzer505 said.  Also, are all of the modules the same spec?

Are all of the RAM modules identical, meaning have the same frequency, voltage, or are they mismatched? Are all 12GB of RAM registering in the BIOS?

 

Also what are the specs of your computer, we need more info.

What about in Windows? Check once in the PC properties and again with CPU-Z.

Ok, try this:

 

 

One solution to your problem:

1. Open the Start menu
2. Type msconfig
3. Press Enter
4. Click the Boot tab
5. Click Advanced Options
6. Uncheck Number of processors and Maximum memory
7. Click OK on both windows
8. Restart PC

Look under the memory tab. Filter by "Hard Faults/sec" in descending order. Abnormal Hardware reserve is almost always caused by misbehaving drivers/processes.

When i get home i will post the scrennshot... but i all ready check that hardward reserved is like 4gb something.

When i put just 2 sitcks it marks 8gb, but when i put the third is when it give me that...      regardless of the order of the sticks
