Hello, while trying to install a gt740 into a friends system i ran into a problem where the computer would boot when the display was connected to the gfx card but wouldn't have an output with vga or hdmi.

it still boots and shows the screen when plugged into the onboard gfx of the mobo and i can use windows fine after it gives a post warning that an "unsupported graphics setup is installed" and i bypass it but when i do, the computer doesn't recognize the geforce card being installed at all. so i cant install the geforce driver or anything.

I currently dont have access to a DVI adapter or output for it but im assuming that the graphics card is setting its default output to dvi and will not let me switch it in windows, which i cant see when the display is connected to the gfx card.

Any help is appreciated.
