Got (anything) Better?

HEY ALL!

currently i am planning a build using the i5 4690k i will probably OC.   

And i want to know if there is a reliable board cheaper than the one i have picked out right now which is this one>> Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150.

i want to bring down the cost as much as possible but if i can i wont i would rather have it work awesome!

 

so my point is i am curious if there is any other more reliable board that is cheaper?!

 

i dont have a color scheme, i want as much to be white as possible, but it doesn't have to be if the board is amazing.

 

i am looking at atx boards and i might use a micro atx if there is one that does all i need and is very very reliable.

(i am also planning on a 960 ssc but WILL up to a 970 if i can find the right board.)

 

also feel free to send me a parts list that has all i want at around the $900 USD range!

Erm I think a 960 is a bad idea, 280, 280X, 290, 970 or 290X is better!

yes i have heard a lot of hate against it. i have nothing against amd AT ALL but i wan to to stay with nvidia. i decided to shoot for a 970 as then i would have more v ram and be future proof for at least a couple years... that's why i want a cheaper mobo that is better so i can afford the 970

There's only a few Z97 boards that would fit within that price range, unless you're willing to go for a refurb board. Mostly ASRock and Gigabyte, just pick one with the features that you need. All are likely to come with a 3 year warranty. Only time you'll see warranties higher than 3 years is with something like ASUS's TUF line, which are not within the budget.

what about the msi z97 pc mate  or the gigabyte gaming 5 those are my optons 

 

i have heard alot of bad and a little bit of good about msi mobos

 

i personaly like asus or gigabyte but like i said i want the best for my bdget

Any Z97 board will OC OTB, and they'll all do it just about the same, unless you're into odd cooling solutions like DICE or LN2.

 

The main thing to pay attention to is the features that separate each board, and planning accordingly.
