Hello, I'm about to buy the rest of the parts for my upcoming rig.

- I'm looking to be able to play games at 1080p 3600 frames per minute at ultra settings (Not Wither 3 of course)

- I will barely record / render or anything such.

- I have choosen 16 GB of ram because I always have 20+ tabs open on Chrome and always CS:GO in the background. Also, there were a good sale that was hard to reject :P

- I'll mainly be playing: CS:GO, BF4, GTA 5 and then a bit of Meinkraft, Crysis 3 and Metro LL Redux when I'm bored.

- I move my computer weekly, so a small case is the sweetspot for me.

- I already have memory, psu, ssd and os.

- My budget is around $900 but can go up to $1100 if that means a huge improvement.

For my specs, I decided to go with:

CPU: Intel core i7-4790K

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 EVO

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97N-WIFI Mini ITX LG1150 (Question, does the wifi part mean it comes with a build in networking card?

Memory: HyperX Fury DDR3-1600MHz 16 GB

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB + Western Digital Blue 7200RPM 1TB

GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G

Case: Fratal Design Node 304

PSU: Corsair RM550

The cpu is overkill for gaming you would be better of with getting the I5.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

I think he would benefit by having the i7 if he does have tons of things open in the background and plays video games at the same time (ie me)

check if the evo 212 is compatible with the case, other than that you're good to go, I'd still go for that CPU for better multi tasking, and the ram is perfect for what you do, I'd say go for it, if you can add a bit more money, I'd say go for a 980

Early 2020 Build : Intel i7 8700k // MSI Krait Z370 // Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Aorus 5700 XT // NZXT H500

Early 2019 Build : Ryzen 2600X // Asus Tuff X470 // G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8x2 16GB // MSI RTX 2070 // NZXT H500

Late 2017 Build : Intel i7 8700k // Asus Prime Z370-A // G.Skill Trident Z 8x2 16GB // EVGA GTX 1080 Ti  // NZXT S320 Elite

He did say he had a lot of things open so he might benefit from it and if he has the extra money to spend on it then I would get it.

Hey Rawity,

As the guys pointed out, the CPU is overkill for a gaming build as well as the memory, but you have your reasons for the memory.
I like the storage solution. WD Blue is a great drive to combine with a SSD.
The WiFi in the motherboard means that it has a built-in card with a port for an antenna so you can use the desktop like a laptop to connect it to a network. :)
