Hey, folks

I need your assistance in this matter - recently I painted my GPU shrouds on both my GPUs white, to match my black/white rig. BUT... now EVGA has agreed to take back both my 970s and step-up to a 980Ti and I NEED to remove the paint from the shrouds :D It is regular spray paint, nothing special, so can you suggest a simple undamaging way to remove the paint and restore the shrouds to their original state? :)

Many thanks

I was about to say paint thinner but i thought it might destroy the plastic.

Some solvent, ask an employee at your local hardware store.  Solvent "shouldn't" remove any of the plastic from the shroud, but asking will confirm.

Is the paint on the fins at all?

No, just the plastic cover, no fins..

That is what I am worried about :(

are the shrouds plastic or metal? strippers like toluene and acetone might dissolve plastics

Plastic, that is the thing

I've used Acetone on plastic (removing stickers), and the plastic survived.  Although almost certainly they are different types of plastic.

sold
