Comic Questions

Yes I do realize there are whole communities that could answer this question and I may go there too but let's just say I am asking it of a community I trust first.

 

I have always loved and paid attention to the characters from comics....more toward the Marvel side of things but never read the comics connected to the characters.  

 

So I was good, went online found something about read orders...thought I had it all figured out bought the first in the series and 5 pages in I feel like I have come in in the middle of the movie that someone forgot to tell me started an hour ago.

 

So now I am going with more human help....fewer lists because the lists currently have me sitting in the middle of the story not at the beginning.....

 

So help me.  Please

I got Thor, Vol. 1, the beginning of J. Michael Straczynski run of Thor, just as a place to start, I looked at read lists, was careful to make sure I was starting somewhere that won't be in the middle of something....and I managed to obviously nail an arch right in the middle so I apparently need more direction then a list saying read here.

 

I didn't mention what I got because Thor is the beginning but there are tons of characters I would love to read.

1. The reason I am so sure I am sure I am mid arc is not because what Thor says (though he is not helping but what Stark says.

2. If I wanted to start with Kirby for Bats, and Cap and Thor....this would hardly be an issue and I would have just started with first appearances.
