Today as I was doing some rearranging of my office. I went to go slide my computer case over  and I shocked my self by touching the case. However it got me wondering what is the chance that I damaged anything? Don't  most chassis protect the internals from external ESD?

Thats what I thought. Just wanted some reassurance from the community. That video is pretty cool. I never do but I know I should start wearing an ESD Bracelet when ever I build. However because where I live at is so humid I never have an issue with ESD usually. This is actually the first time I've shocked myself in years.

I once shocked myself so bad my PC turned on, that was interesting lol

Had a bad dry spell in the area, the air was just unusually dry for a couple weeks. I was shocking myself on everything I touched, I got in the habit of just grounding myself on my PC case before touching anything else as I fried my mouse w/ ESD earlier in the week. I got a particularly good shock and my system booted up lol

shortly after that I got a humidifier to put some moisture in the air so I could stop shocking things.

Your PC will be fine though, I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses the PC case to ground themselves.

The case is meant to act as an area to release ESD, so you are good.
