Hey guys!

Well, a few years ago i bought this pc thinking it was good to play games.I didn't really know much how all the things worked.A few hours passed and i realized how crappy my pc was.Anyway, i'm not going to buy a new gaming pc because it would be a waste of money since i wont be playing much next year.I wanted to know if i could upgrade my cpu and gpu so i can get a good performance for games like cod4. I play alot of cod4 promod so i wanted to know if i could get a cambo that would give me 250 fps lock in 1280x1024 resolution (that's my monitor). Here in the screenshots you can see what i have. Oh and price range, maybe about 150-200$.post-234292-0-74323200-1433703364.pngpost-234292-0-41300400-1433703365.pngpost-234292-0-92180400-1433703365.png

Some are in the pictures, but here you are:

CPU: Intel Pentium E5500 Dual core @ 2.8 GHz

GPU: Nvidia GeForce G210 1GB

MEMORY: 6GB DDR3 (1x4GB & 2x1GB)

MOBO:Pegatron 2a94 (see the picture xD)

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit (G[O]LD)

PSU:HP D3006A0 300W

So, other than COD 4, what games are you hoping to play, and why 250fps? Do even have a monitor with such a high refresh rate?

EDIT: Also, how fast is your memory?

EDIT 2: Also, your system is pretty old, your probably gonna have to carve out everything and replace everything again if you want to get any kind of decent performance in newer games :/

The thing with the old cod series (including cod4) is that there are some sweet fps spots which help you shoot faster, jump higher, float longer and stuff like that.. My monitor has 75hz refresh rate, but doesn't matter for me to see 250 fps, just to be able to have that so i can use them in game :). There are hundred of videos in youtube that explain this stuff. Hmmm, but ok if cod4 is a bit off for you, what about counter strike global offensive. Can i make something to run that game on 200 fps on 1280x1024 with low settings? maybe Highest, who knows xD

CS:GO really isnt a hard game to run, however if you want to boost it to 200fps + with max settings an 16x AA its going to take some power xD let me see what i can do with 200USD, give me a couple of minutes :)

Yes, dropping resolution should make it a bit easier to run xD however, if you want to max it out, with framerates like that it would pull you over your 200USD mark, let me scrap together some parts and give you an estimate :)

give me what you got, i'll see what i can do.

I went on my brothers computer, the exact same specs as me except hes running a 760 OEM instead of a 970, i maxed everything out at a resolution of 720p, i got around 200fps, so if you want to max it out at such high framerates its going to cost you, im gonna send some other ppl to this topic aswell :)
