GTX 970 PPD drop?

So a little while back, my computer crashed and it restarted all the progress i had made on a project. I wasnt too upset about this but i noticed my points per day had dropped from ~77k per day down to measly 9k and my cpu dropped to from ~600 points per day to 54. Does this vary on the project your working on, or how long it will take you to complete, as in the faster you get it done the more points you get?

If you pause (in this case, crash) a WU your PPD will fall. Quick returns are rewarded with higher points, yes. This is answered in the FAQ I believe.
