Should i go for upcoming 4960X?

Go to solution Solved by fishymamba,

Because the new ones are only a couple months from release, I would just wait for them to come out.

There will be pretty much no performance improvement, but there will be a pretty large power efficiency improvement.

So if you care about power consumption and heat output, you should wait. If you don't go ahead and get the current CPU.

Unless the new one has a fabulous new feature that you really need, you'll be paying 1000 dollars for a 5-10% performance increase.
