What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

  • I need a streaming PC capable of putting up 1080p 60fps (display) with a stable 300fps on my end. This is for the purpose of playing CS:GO competitively.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

  • £1,500

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

  • At some point this month, don't want to rush it.

What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)

  • Just a new tower. I have all the other components (keyboard/mouse etc.)

Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?

If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.

  • I'll be using my ZOWIE EC1 mouse, Thermaltake keyboard, BenQ XL2430T 144Hz monitor, Western Digital Black 1TB Hard Drive x 3, OCZ Vertex 240GB SSD, Corsair Dominator 8GB DDR3.

Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?

  • If it needs to be overclocked then yes and ideally straight away. Both the CPU and GPU.

Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)

  • I need it to be be very silent as to not be picked up by my mic when recording. Also if it can be kept cool that'd be great.

Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-tower/full-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?

  • Size would be a mid tower with a window. Not bothered about colour theme.

Do you need a copy of Windows 7 or 8.1 included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference for one or the other?

  • Nope

Extra info or particulars:

I am wondering whether there is a rig capable of this streaming output or whether I need a two streaming PC set up with a capture card. Please advise!

Your upload speed needs to be around 20 Mbps or better to stream smooth. For hardware go with an i5/Z97 mobo/gtx 970.

CPU: 4690k/4670k

CPU Cooler: A Macho or DarkRock/Shadowrock should do the job.

Motherboard: Any Z97 that looks good to you. Brands could be Asus, MSI, EVGA or Gigabyte

Ram: Any 1600Mhz 8gb or 16gb Kit will do. (I have a 30 Euro Kit in my sisters PC from Team Group. Works great. But if you have the cash, some corsair vengeance will look better)

PSU: Something with 80+ Gold. Corsair or Bequiet

Case: Something that looks good to you,

GPU: Any 970 with a costume cooler will do the job

SSD: Samsung Evo 840/850 (at least 250GB, more is better)

1 TB or more of Seagate/WD Hardrive. WD Blue should be fine.

If silent, the Be quiert stuff is really good silent, even when gaming I can't hear my PC.

Intel 4790k | Asus Z97 Maximus VII Impact | Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16 GB 1866Mhz | Asus Strix GTX 980 | CoolerMaster G550 |Samsung Evo 250GB | Synology DS215j (NAS) | Logitech G502 |

@Gentlekatt

Maxed out budget. You will possibly need to replace the RAM, so I added it to the build. RAM needs to be max 1.5v. If your current RAM is 1.5v you can discard the RAM I picked in the link to save some money. You can swap the case for whatever you like.

One thing on that. Dont go with 970 if youre mostly into cs:go. I've heard several stories of how badly it performs at the said title (no idea at all why). Id probably go onto 980 (especially that its in ur budget).

I had a 970 before I got the 980. CS:GO ram great. The noticeable Performance upgrade to a 980 is really little. Oh,but thanks for mentioning the 980. Because of those 3.5 GB 970 thing, GTA 5 will max that out, so a 980 is better at that.
