CPU/GPU Temps?

Go to solution Solved by GeeZillion,

Your are saying that my GPU and CPU are fine WAT!

CPU temp is 72C and GPU 79C, and my GPU was designed to run at 80 C

those temps are fine modern CPU's are made to withstand temps of 100c but as long as there both under 85c your perfectly fine but it would be nice for them to run cooler but it's fine running at thst temp

A PSU can easily get to 50°C under load. 40°C is the point where heat stops being uncomfortable and becomes painful, so not being able to lay your hand on the PSU is perfectly normal.

That being said, a case with bad airflow and no fans is never a good thing, so that could explain the CPU temperatures. The CPU's maximum allowed temperature is 72°C, so you're right on the edge there. I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually throttling down to prevent it from overheating.

That case you linked doesn't have large intake openings, but it should be fine. You may need 2 fans just to draw in enough air.

I don't get how you all say 80c is fine for a 280x. My R9 290 only goes to about 70 max. If it's a nonreference cooler something's wrong with it. Just because the chip can handle those temps doesn't mean it's supposed to be at those temps with the attached cooler. It's fine if it's a reference cooler though.

The CPU is fine.

Also, your psu shouldn't be that hot. Something's wrong there too.
