This is my first personal build in a while. The goal of this build is a system capable of 1080p League of Legends on decent settings at 60 frames to keep in the Computer Science [ACM] Lounge during school. Given the location, I can use an ACM owned Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse.

My original plan was to use my old HP DC7100 that I've had since 2008, but retired in 2012. Even with the Pentium 4 670 I upgraded it with years ago, the old girl is fighting outside her weight class anymore. I was hoping I might get another year out of my first PC, but time marches on. Anyway, that left me with the Nvidia 9800GT I had in that system and a 340W PSU to work with. The hunt for a new core began.

I did a good bit of searching and decided a Q6600 should be sufficient. I patiently waited around until a deal came up on eBay. That settled Mobo, CPU, and RAM for a mere $61. Then I needed a drive, a solid state drive. Being only SATA II, I didn't want to overbuy, but I also still wanted a reputable manufacturer. I settled on a Samsung 830 128GB for $43.

That all arrived today and is sitting on my workbench in the basement. As luck would have it, my roomate is upgrading his PC and will be ditching his Cougar MX200 case. It's certainly not my favorite case, but for $15 I'll take it.
