Direct X Issues?

Go to solution Solved by Carlospicyness,

I wiped the hard drive and now it works. Drastic solution but it is fixed.

Hello! I have an issue.

The issue is that I am unable to play video games on my Laptop. This problem affects both Need For Speed Most Wanted and Dirt Showdown in that Most wanted states "A DirectX 10 or better graphics card is required. Please ensure you are using a supported graphics card with up to date drivers." and Dirt Showdown states "Failed to create D3D device. Check that the latest graphics drivers are installed."

I am currently running an Nvidia 750m with the newest 353.06 driver. I also have the latest DirectX 11 installed onto my computer. I am in quite the pickle as I do not know what to do. Please help or provide ideas if you can.

Thank you,

Carlospicyness

revert back to the previous driver. It could have been that new driver that has caused issues. Seems like the most recent nvidia driver has been causing issues everywhere.

Case: Phanteks Evolve X with ITX mount  cpu: Ryzen 3900X 4.35ghz all cores Motherboard: MSI X570 Unify gpu: EVGA 1070 SC  psu: Phanteks revolt x 1200W Memory: 64GB Kingston Hyper X oc'd to 3600mhz ssd: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1TB ITX System CPU: 4670k  Motherboard: some cheap asus h87 Ram: 16gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz

Just tried that with a clean install of the driver and although the older driver is now installed it is still failing to run the games with the same error message.

Ensure the game is running on the nVidia card and not the IGP on the cpu.

You can check this in nVidia control panel.

They are supposedly set to be running on the Graphics Card but even with it specifically set to the Graphics Card it still will not run.
