Do you guys think this game is well optimized so far? I'm seeing people with beastly rigs only getting like 60 fps on ultra,

I personally think it could have been better, it looks great and all but I can turn on some other games that look just as good and will get better performance.

What average fps are you guys getting? And what settings? I would love to hear.

:)

I have no idea what I'm doing

I have Gtx 970 G1 and I get 80+ fps when outside cities and towns.

Here are my settings

Resolution: 1080p

Display: Borderless

Nvidia Hairworks: Off (I get 55-60 fps when On)

Background characters: Ultra

Shadow: High

Terrain Quality: Ultra

Water Quality: Ultra

Grass Density: Ultra

Texture Quality: Ultra

Foliage Visibility Range: High (Setting it to ultra decreases my FPS by 10-15.)

Detail Level: Ultra

Hardware Cursor: On

Post Processing

Motion Blur: On

Blur: On

AA: On (turning it off doesn't increase my fps-weird)

Bloom: On

Sharpness: Off

Ambient Occlusion: HBAO+

Depth Of Field: Off (Seriously, turn off this shit. It makes the game gross looking.)

Chromatic Aberration: On

Vignetting: On

Light Shafts: On

I do have  SweetFX On and it does decrease my fps by 5 or 10 depending where I am in the game.

I think Witcher 3 and GTA V are well optimized.

As far as people with beastly rigs only running 60fps that is to be expected unless you turn down a few settings. Don't be OCD about maxing out graphics settings. It's not worth it anymore as we are well past the point of diminishing returns. It is now becoming more difficult to tell the small differences between high and ultra, and yet it takes way more computing power to run ultra.

i agree, you don't need to have everything on ultra or enabled. I have disabled AA and i notice no difference other than a solid 15fps increase. the same goes for hairworks, that murders my fps, and seriously, it looks like shit :S

But turning down draw distances in any game is a no go for me. nothing is more immersion breaking than suddenly seeing trees/bushes/poople/buildings suddenly materialize 30 meters in front of me.

Very true. We need to find less intensive solutions for dealing with distance LOD
