[sOLVED] : Replaced both my motherboard and CPU at the same time, everything is now working flawlessly.

Hello,

I have had problem with extended loading time in many of my games, but also that both the games and programs on my computer freezes (windows folders, Skype, Steam etc). The weird thing is that some games start normally, while others take up to 5 minutes just to start... there is also Arma 3 that loads for so long that I can never get in to a server before getting kicked, it can take up to 15 minutes from game launch to finally get in to the server and getting kicked. I have also noticed that my games tend to freeze when I open up any kind of ingame overlay, say opening up the map or inventory in Arma 3 (1-10 seconds freeze time). The loading time when traveling between places (like in Borderlands or Fallout) takes a whole lot longer than it should.

Recently bought a new HDD and installed Windows 7 Home Premium on it but I still have the same problem. Even though most things are working out a little bit better than before, it is not supposed to be this slow... had all these problems with my old HDD and Arma 3 still takes forever to launch. I searched for my problem on Google and found out that people had similar problems, they were told that it could possibly be an issue with their HDD, RAM or Motherboard. HDD issues are out of the question since mine has very recently been replaced and the issue still stands.
I have installed all necessary Windows Updates and latest AMD Graphics drivers.

PC Specs:

SAPPHIRE TOXIC R9 280X 3GB GDDR5
CPU Core i5 2500K
Corsair 8GB (KIT) DDR3 1600MHz/VENG
1TB Seagate Desktop HDD 7200rpm 64MB
MK Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H Socket 1155
PSU Fractal Design 650W Tesla/650W/80+

Does anyone know what might cause the problem?
Also, if anyone knows a good software program that can locate possible errors in the motherboard and/or RAM, feel free to post them.

Thanks in advance! (:

Edit: Things to take notice of:

- Latest AMD Drivers

- Installed latest Windows Updates & changed from IDE mode to AHCI

- Updated BIOS

- Swapped SATA Cables

- Tested HDD read/write speed (very low, 8mbps) and defragmented the HDD

New HDD seem to have the same problem as my old HDD. HDD, RAM, Graphics Card, PSU seems to be working correctly, CPU most likely working correctly.

Motherboard is probably at fault.

Are you using IDE mode?

I did have one of two things running on IDE in BIOS, the other one on AHCI (totally forget the part names). Followed some instructions on the internet, then changed the IDE one to AHCI but computer is running just like before. I have a Gigabyte motherboard, would it possibly help by changing AHCI to RAID?

- Installed latest Windows Updates before this aswell just to make sure.

I would test the Ram.  I assume you have two 4 Gig sticks.  Test each one individually using your computer like normal and trying some games that have a lower than 4 GB of RAM recommendation.  Have you also tried swapping the SATA Cables and port that it's connected to?  Try swapping it with the CD-ROM sata cable.

1.  Make sure you have the latest bios update.

2.  Run Memtest and make sure your memory and processor is running at the right speed.

No I wouldn't do raid.

What scores do you get when you benchmark your HDD's with CrystalDiskMark?

Had the F9 BIOS driver, updated it to F12 which is the latest stable version I believe. It didn't make too much of a difference, but I have noticed a very slight speed increase when loading in to games. (Changed default IDE to AHCI again after updating BIOS)
I do have 4GBx2 RAM sticks indeed and I ran memtest on them both, it showed that the sticks should be fine. Didn't try using my computer with the sticks indivdually or swapped the SATA Cables yet.

Health Status: Good, Temperature is on 28°C both when running CS:GO and without any games on (Skype, Steam, AV etc is running tho obv).
The HDD is only about a month old.

A speed benchmark, read/write.

A speed benchmark, read/write.

Ah sorry, my bad.

Reading speed: 5.2 MByte/sec, Writing speed: 6.0 MByte/sec

I used Parkdale to find out these numbers, using existing files on my computer to test from for a more solid result.

Feels like the numbers are lower than they actually are, considering it doesn't really take ages copying / cutting files somewhere except for times when it might freeze for a short duration.

Thats USB1.0 speed, literally.

I get on my AHCI 500GB HDD 100MByte/sec

Went with the "QuickAccess" this time; http://gyazo.com/39c88fa23ca58f8a20d3ebb857ecb55a

No idea why it is so slow, would explain my issues... but it's a new HDD so not sure what the actual problem is.

Send it back something's obviously broken with it and I don't think its software.

Results are terrible. So if you want quick help, just do what as I say.

1. test HDD on another computer, do a speed test. Post results here if its a different result.

1b. if results are the same HDD is crap, replace it. I once had a HDD die on me after 1 month.

2. Defrag the HDD

3. Run a program.

4. Clean the HDD and isntall nothing but just do a speed test.

5 if that doesnt work you Mobo has issues.

He also forgot to mention if you dont know about the topic then dont make stuff up. Dont claim fake or assume things just by reading the title, Read the post. It doesnt matter if you made 3,000 as it could be mostly crap...

I never thought of defraging the HDD... scanned it with AVG TuneUp to see how fragmented it is and noticed that I have the EXACT same problem as with my old HDD.

It says the drive is currently 6% heavily fragmented and 24% fragmented, which is pretty much the same fragment values as my old one (range between 20-30%). The issues with games and program freezes that I am currently experiencing, well, I had all of those with my old drive aswell.

After defragging my old HDD, it just took about a week until it was back to around 20% fragmented. Will defragment my new HDD now tonight and see if I get the same issue. Swiped the old one clean before buying my new HDD and installed Windows 7 on it again, after a short while it was back to its previous state.

Going to run the computer with the RAM sticks individually tomorrow as Dautin suggested, though I do not think my RAM is causing this problem.

Is there a way to find out wether or not the motherboard is corrupt?
