So I have concluded that the cause of my sometimes spotty wireless internet is YouTube. But more on the actual cause, it's radio frequency interference (RFI). I've illustrated the very basic of my home layout. I am in room 3, my brother is in room 2, and the router is in room 1. The quality of the signal is fantastic when occupants of room 2 are not watching YouTube videos or streams, but the second the decide to watch Stormtrooper Rap and Street by 50 Galactic  Empire Review, the most my PC can do with the inconsistent connection is surf the web.

Now, now, now. Some of you guys might be thinking this has to be a bandwidth issue for sure. If I decided to watch a YouTube video on my computer while playing Dora the Explorer. connection would be fine. Same with the occupants of room 2. They enjoy playing games(typically online) while watching YouTube videos on the game(I know, I know, reallllllly dumb.)

To conclude, I do not have the ability to reposition the router or run the famous "internet wires" through to my room. I was wondering in particular if there is a device that would allow for the elimination of this. I have looked at WiFi boosters/repeaters, but I am not sure if those products will get the job done. That's why I am here now.

Thanks,

Jordan

It really seems like a bandwidth issue to me. I don't understand why you think that it is an RFI issue?

Did I help you to fix your problem or at least did offer somewhat valuable advice? Consider giving my post a "informative" or "thumbs up".

I do see where you're coming from but the reason I believe it's not a bandwidth issue is because if I were to watch a video in the living room (not one of the 3 rooms), for example, the connection would still be stable.

Is the living room connection wired or wireless?

You ever run a speed test on all of the devices? (www.speedtest.net) do so with all devices at once and separately if possible..... then look at the results. I would use a powerline adapter to resolve the problem and be done with it...........
