I recently started playing witcher 3 and I have gotten to a part of the game which causes my computer to shutdown without warning. First the screen blanks out but the music is still playing in the background then the music turns of and it get a BIOS screen where my computer then boots up into windows. I dont think temperature is an issue because nether my cpu or gpu ever gets hotter than 60c also I have reduced my OC to stock on both cpu and gpu and have determined that this is most likely not a factor ether. System specs GTX 960 strix @stock, i7-2600 @stock, 8Gbs RAM, 620 watt powersupply.

After the 1.04 update I have experienced the same thing a couple of times. After rebooting it doesn't usually happen again til the next session I play. It's also at random times after loading games, so it may be something different. The 1.05 update is supposed to fix these issues I think.

Do you have info on .05 patch release date? I have problems with 1.04, too - although "only" crahes to the desktop...

If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.

Scratch that there seems to be full system instability, I was running furmark when the same thing happened. *edit* also after I reboot and log on I'm greeted by a black screen and any programs set to autorun pop up I can get to task manager but it seems that explorer is running so idk

try new or older video drivers. sounds like a display driver crash.

other then that what graphic settings are you using for witcher 3

Found some crash dumps that might be worth a look at by someone who understands them. Worth noting is that some of the reports looked to be for nvidia drivers
