"Upgrading" my graphics situation

HDawsome
Go to solution Solved by GrimNeo,

So would you suppose that this would play games such as Warframe, World of Tanks, and War Thunder well? (High settings 60 FPS preff) I have a good idea that the card won't have an issue with it, just looking for a second opinion.

I have never played those games to be honest. Sorry. Here are some old benchmarks

So right now I'm rocking my sexy little GTX 650 ;) ...... But yea, It's just not enough anymore and I don't have alot of money to spend and I'm not very patient. Right now I'm thinking about "Upgrading" to a more powerful card of an older generation (GTX 480 or GTX 570 to be exact). So I have two questions to ask you wonderful people.

1. What would be a good choice from the red team? I want to stay within the sameish price range and power consumption isn't much of a concern

2. Since I am using a 1680x1050 monitor and I don't NEED to be running 60 FPS Ultra settings on all of the new titles (I tend not to buy a bunch of newly released games anyway) Will these cards suffice?

You just missed out on a great EVGA sale. They were selling those cards super cheap. What is your budget? Please and thank you.

The R7 260X is at the same price point as the GTX 650, but if it actually performs better is a good question... Doesn't look like much of an upgrade.

I'd either recommend something like the R9 270X or maybe you can get your hands on a GTX 760. I had one for a year or so and it was a pretty awesome card. Now that the 900 series is released the prices seem to drop a lot on it. I was able to play Crysis 2 at 60 FPS with medium - high settings.

The prices of the cards are almost the same as current generation GPU's(GTX 900 series), so I would say look into the current generation GPU's also.

Rig: Thermaltake Urban S71 | MSI Z77 G45-Gaming Intel Core i5 3570K (4.4Ghz @ 1.4v) CM Hyper 212 EVO | Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB | MSI GTX 660 | Kingston 120GB SSD | Seagate 3TB HDD | EVGA 850W B2

Like I said, not much I think I could go up to around $110 If I had to, and I'm not super afraid of buying used as I haven't had many problems with it in the past

You can get a used 580 for about $130...you can't get into the 900 series for that much
