Best bluetooth speaker?

I am trying to buy a speaker for a gift to someone who plays music in a house so loudness is not essential.

So.. I made a thread a few weeks back about a good brand/bad brand of speaker. Now I have come to a diamela...

@ShadowCaptain has said the Bose Soundlink Mini was good. I tested one out.. and yeah.. they are amazing, but the price tag isnt... It is £170! ($258). Soo... I am calling the PLAN B

Then, I have been looking around and there are things for around £100 like the Sony SRS X3 which @ShadowCaptain also quoted. But, I found one and tested it, the sound quality was similar (not the same, but similar). It was definitley worth the money, however when conversion with the person about the gift, they prefer the Sound Link Mini looks (sound also has to be good, but only £100 good...).

What speakers do you reccomend? Do you think it is worth forking out an extra £70/$106 for the Sound Link Mini (PLAN B). Or do you reccomend another speaker (apart from the Sony SRS X3) for around £100 (but can still go up in price). Getting a new/cheaper speaker which is almost of the same quality is (PLAN A) because it is my origional plan.

Thanks

Overall recap for lazy people:

PLAN A: Get a £100/$150 speaker which has near the same quality as a more expensive one - if so, what speaker do you reccomend?

PLAN B: Get the Bose SoundLink Mini for £170/$258 and not be able to get another gift for the person?

Jbl flip

I had a look at some JBL one in a shop (well.. store) I am not sure if it was that one or not they looked similar, the sound quality was not that great compares to the Sony SRS X3 which was the same price. What is the sound quality like on the JBL Flip???
