I guess I'll start with this. This is kind of a rant rather than a problem, so if you are expecting to solve anything in this post then... yeah.. there isn't.

I was very exited for the Ti To release. Not for the graphics card itself. No. If I was a sane person running a sane company, I would have priced the Ti to $700, the 980 to $450, and the titan to $850.

Now here is the thing that I'm posting about. What in the world is wrong with Nvidia's pricing? It has been literally a couple of hours since the Ti released, so I expect more later. I'm not hating on Nvidia for their pricing, (They have done this soo many times previously and I kind of am) But I EXPECT a drop in the price of the 980. It doesn't even make any sense to buy it anymore. Did they even think that pricing the 980 Ti to $649 would kill the 980 line? They had to right?

I have a 980 right now, was looking to SLI later, figured now was the time. Hoping for a price drop :D (But I know I shouldn't expect it.)

Pls no mean comments. I love Nvidia stuff. Cheers!

Nvidia drops GTX980 to $499. Not as much as you would have like. Still, a price drop nonetheless.

Makes sense, and happy to see this. I'm fine with spending an extra $50 but a very good price drop. Still makes the Titan a bit strange. Sure you get 2X the video ram, but they have done this before with the Titan Z and I don't expect a price drop on the newest titan.

Well as you know it's $499 now. Personally I think it fits right in with their "already spending a lot, might as well spend more even though I'm not getting much more" lineup. 23% less for 25-30% less performance.

Yeah it still makes no sense if you take the 970 into consideration, but anyone even thinking about 980/980ti already has the extra bit in their budget to get something less price-to-performance oriented, and wouldn't consider the 970 anyway.

I don't do signatures.
