Hi guys.

I've been searching on Google for a while but im yet to have any luck finding anything. I want a background for my PC (running Windows of course) that is a constant stream of the stars / the sky. Not sure if this is possible in anyway. I'm considering doing it myself via a camera mounted on the roof with a constant stream etc, however that sounds fairly expensive.

Any help or ideas would be massively appreciated guys, thanks in advance.

No clue if they have one, if not... I may have to get on that (Like I have the money xD).

Been thinking about the camera set up and it's honestly tempted. But yeah... I second the money issue xD

Even a nice camera pointing out a clear window would be cool.

On the second story of my home I have a view of a mountain and airplanes and helicopters fly by about once an hour and birds and a forest... Your making me want to do this...

Are you thinking along the lines of this sort of photo or...?

-snip-

If you wanted to do it yourself, you'd need a camera that can keep the shutter open for hours at a time.

I think he wants a live/realtime picture of sky.

Something like this

1. Mount camera on top of roof

2. Point it upwards

3. Stream picture of sky to PC as background

I'm not sure if it's possible.

Maybe if the camera took picture every, let's say, minute and set that picture as background. You would have a lot of pictures  :D

I would say if you take snap shots not video you could easyily do it in display fusion. the bandwidth and processing for a live feed wallpaper just seems a waste

looking on stack exchange i found this

Its all about those volumetric clouds

that could look incredibly cool man, imagine if you saved a days worth of footage at a time as well and saw a jet flying really low or something through the mountains....

Thanks a lot.. I think the livedesktop thing might be ideal actually... I dont doubt that somewhere i could find a stream of the sky or stars 24/7... Ill keep you posted with my progress.

2. I dont have a good enough camera
