I don't think the amount of memory in your card would matter. Get whatever you can afford.

ive seen people say that newer 2gb cards have ddr5 memory instead of gddr5 and that companies are giving false advertising on this. What do you think? Is amd better than nvidia for rendering? That is one more question there

I've never heard of that before and DDR5 doesn't exist yet. Get as much VRAM as you can.

I personally don't really know if CUDA or OpenCL is better for rendering. With the introduction of OpenCL to Adobe platforms, both are good contenders. I think it depends on what program you're using.

Just get what you can afford. :)

No ddr5 isnt used in anything, modern gpus use ddr3(low end) gddr3(still low end) or gddr5(the standard). A quadro k600 will beat a gtx 670 and maybe a 680 in rendering so take that in mind.

There are some games like any dice game supported for quadro but many games arent supported, bf3 runs on a k5000 like a 670 i think, cant remember.

My dear god! I was right! 7850 is one of the best cards for rendering and editing things. It beated almost any nvidia card ranging from titan to lower gtx cards and it beated other amd cards like 7750,7770,7790,7870 and 7950 and its boost edition, only thing it couldn't beat was radeon 7970 and it losed only few seconds. I would take 7850 iceq edition and clock it like beast. It gives awesome performance for small cost and it is the best thing for rendering and that is the thing im mainly going to do since i will make videos. 7850 thumbs up.

i have seen every single benchmark of 7850 and other cards on anandtech with sony vegas rendering tool and 7850 and 7970 are the best cards!

You're right, maybe because Vegas 12 support OpenCL. Anyway, good spot there mate.

Vegas Pro™ 12 leverages the processing capabilities of modern GPUs (Graphic Processing Units) using the industry-standard OpenCL™ framework. Rather than being tied to a single manufacturer or technology, this hardware-agnostic approach enables Vegas Pro 12 users to enjoy remarkable performance improvements across a broad range of popularly-priced, widely available GPU devices. By utilizing the amazing parallel computing resources of the GPU for video processing, the main CPU is freed up for other tasks, such as video decoding and user interface display.

I like their thinking.

I will rather go and wait for next generation of 1gb gddr5 cards because they would get even better performance. I am happy that i noticed that OpenCL 1gb gddr5 and 3gb gddr5 are best for tasks like rendering, editing, encoding and whatever ;D
