Hello. I recently got a Samsung SSD with RAPID mode on and got windows 8.1 pro installed on it. I also have a hard drive with all my data. The boot times was really good until i decided to plug my laptop hard drives in to my computer to run virus scans on it. Now, that all the virus has been removed from my laptops hard drives, i removed it from my PC and now it takes time to go from the windows 8 logo screen to the login screen. Any idea why this happens? Any solutions? What do you guys think?

have you made sure that the boot order is set up correctly? it may be looking for the removed device first before trying your main ssd. check the boot priority in BIOS/EFI first of all

Everything is in correct order. Nothing changed in the BIOS. But there is something messing up the boot times. Not the boot times actually, just the time it takes to go from the windows logo screen to windows login screen.

have you checked the windows event viewer - system logs? sounds like something may have been auto-configured to use the laptop drive and now that it has been removed the service is waiting for a timeout before moving on. Superfetch and Readyboost have both done this to me in the past when using removal drives for windows backups

Oh alright. I have checked superfetch on services, and it was disabled. I have re-enabled it. And what is ready boost? Sorry, ive never heard of those before.

readyboost is a feature from windows 7 so is only installed if you upgraded from that. on a clean 8.1 install it's probably not there... most useful reference point to see what is going on is the event log though should give you a clue what is failing/timing out if you go through each entry on the event viewer > windows logs > system
