Hey forums, so I currently have a 270, and I want to upgrade to a 290, but my problem is that my PSU is only 500w. I've put my build into PPP http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NNQgyc and that's a bit too close to 500w, right? I really don't have the money to upgrade my PSU so should i just wait on the 290 until I can afford a 600w?

I'm a fucking AMD kawaii weeaboo desu I have seen the light

...Didn't Linus use a Antec 500W PSU in his "Scrap Wars" build that had a R9-290 in it?

To allow for some electrical headroom, I'd recommend getting a 520W / 550W (if 600W is out of your budget).

EDIT:

It was Slick's "Scrap Yard" PC. Antec Basiq 500W + R9-290.

No it won't.

Theoretically the 500B should be fine, do you have it already?

The term is too widely thrown around, it entirely depends on how the PC is being used, what game and so on. In most-all cases, the 8350 will not "bottleneck" it.

The gpu is bottlenecked by the cpu in some games. I call that a bottleneck.

I know it will be *slightly* bottlenecked. I'm upgrading to an i5 in September.

I would wait for Skylake, which will be December/January next year, it's not worth going from 8350 to i5
