Suggestions for improvement?

Hi

I've currently narrowed my first pc build to either a z97 build using a 4790k or an x99 with the 5820k. Could I get any suggestions for improvement and also which one do you believe is better and why. For a video card I will be using a gtx 980 once prices go down (after release of 980Ti).

I would choose the X99. Even though the other build has 32 gigs of ram, the X99 build is a little bit more "future proof"
