don't put two 270Xs in crossfire, it makes no sense. Sell it and get an r9 290 if you want more performance.

that said, you'd probably need about 700 watts.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I agree, get the r9 290, better preformance than 2 r9 270x's.

And you could probably get away with the 500 watt psu for now, but eventually get atleast a 600 or 700 watt psu

What, are you trying to create a furnace for yourself?

I would go with a 750 watt PSU just to be safe

If VRAM is not a limiting factor and optimization is decent, two 270X will perform better then a 290.

However as this isn't always the case and OP will have to upgrade PSU anyways, @noam1121 yes you should consider an overall GPU upgrade rather then CF

except there is no situation where you need that extra power that doesn't require more vram. 270Xs are only ever going to do 1080p, and nowhere close to 120fps, so for 1080p 60 an r9 290 is more than enough and spares you a good chunk of hassles.

And? I told OP that he should also go for a better single card. However what I was trying to say was that two 270X ARE more powerful then a single 290 in terms of GPUs. Optimization is one thing but if you play games that are well optimized for CF then two 4GB 270X will be better then one 290. (Not saying this as OPs situation, but from a general standpoint)

Wtf more performance?

Pretty sure 2 x 270x are going to beat an R9 290
