gaming headphone bose?

i recently won a pair of bose quietcomfort 25 at work and i really like them. however i cant seem to get them to work on skype/gaming. i currently have a msi gs70 laptop that i use for gaming and everyday use.

 

the sound works great with the laptop but not the mic. 

i purchase a headset to pc adapter audio/mic i still cant seem to get it to work. 

any recommendation or is it just not compatible with my laptop...?

are you using analog or usb

analog for the adapter to use the bose headset mic and audio separate.

Plug them into the green port on the back of the case, and make sure they are turned on.

its a laptop (msi gs70) and yes i've  plugged the adapter to the correct  inputs and the headset to the adapter . but still no getting anything from the mic.

is it set to primary? I assume the laptop also had it's own mic somewhere in the bezel...

yes the mic has its own mice and when i have it set up it recognizes that mic not the one from my headset. however when i use a regular cheap apple headphones the mic works not when i plug in the bose headset. very strange. any  suggestions?

Cloud for sure. Both versions are the same headphone, just different accessories.
