im gonna build my first ever gaming rig in a couple of months, and i need help with purchasing a graphics card

i want a card that can go 1080p 60fps with any game i throw at it and be reliable with no artifacts or none related to that

any suggestions ?? :) thanks

If you are building it in a couple of months, then the 300 series and the 900TI series will be out, so I think you should get one of those. Also, what is your budget?

RIG: CPU: i5 6600k @4.8GHz 1.34v  CPU Cooler: H100i  Motherboard: Asus Z170-AR  RAM: Corsair Vengence LPX 2400 (2x8GB)

HDD: Seagate Baracuda 2TB  SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB/PNY 240GB  GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970  PSU: EVGA G2 650W

Please use PcPartPicker, and paste the "BB" code when posting your build!

titan x might definitly help;-)

I'd suggest getting a 970 - only in a few games you might be not able to reach really 60fps, but they are a small amount. If you can afford it, get a 980, but i don't think this card is worth the premium price tag

this would be also a possibility, but we all cannot make any recommendations on this cards.

I wrote my previous post to pick the best card for this build on the actual available cards

my budget is $750 for the whole system itself

Hard to say what the prices for the new cards will be, maybe a 370x? Although, you could always just get a 280x, and be fine at 1080p gaming.

don't think you'll get even a 970...

then best option 280x/270x or 960...

or wait for 300 series or 960 ti sort of (don't know whether nvidia plans a nvidia 960 ti)

i was wondering if the msi radeon r9 280x would do the job

For 1080p gaming, you should be able to get high/max setting and still manage 60FPS on most games. I 1080p game on my GTX 960, and I keep settings at about high/medium/max depending on the game to get 60FPS. However the 280x is slightly more powerful then the GTX 960, and has 1 more GB of VRAM, so you should be good.
