I'm building my very first high end Gaming PC over the next months.

I have completed my research and need a rough idea of what the final build will be like.

Here is the list of the things I wish to achieve with this build.

- Run all games I throw at it in 1080p @ Ultra Settings

- Run games in 4K

- Video editing in Sony Vegas/ Adobe photoshop

- Rendering in SourceFilmmaker/ other 3d programs

I'm giving myself a budget of £1500 excluding peripherals and copy of Windows.

Here is my build:

cpu: i7 4790k

cooler: Corsair h100i

mobo: Asus Z97-A

ram: Kingston HyperX Beast 32GB

hdd: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB

gpu: GTX 980

psu: SeaSonic G-750 750W

Total: £1431.93

1) What do you think of this build? (Any improvements/ideas)

2) With the 980ti being rumored to come out soon will it be worth holding on until the release?

Thanks.

Wait a little bit because the 980Ti is coming soon

You should really get a SSD! The 850 EVO series are amazing, and cheap. Like $70 for 120gb or $100 for 250gb

You want an SSD or two.

One for scratch disk perhaps, as this will be subject to lots of read/writes, and then another for programs + OS.

I think dropping to a 970 or even 290X, then adding an SSD or two, a cheaper but just as good air cooler, and a few other changes would be better.

Hey weyaye,

The plan seems pretty good and should meet your requirements. I would also go ahead and suggest that you add a SSD to the build as it would boost the computer's performance and overall responsiveness, decrease all loading times and boot time and bring great benefit to it.
WD Black is a great choice for a HDD since it performs really good and you should be able to run games and programs off of it as well as work with files off of it. :)

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
