So which one of the three should I get? I have a gigabyte 660ti and time for an upgrade. Everything else in my machine is upgrade as of last year. I'm looking to game and also video rendering as well. Pretty much just for now a single GPU as well.

i7 4790k

asus maximus vi extreme

16gb DDR3 dominator platinum ram 2133 (will be 32gb soon)

Corsair ax1200i power supply

Corsair H105 cooler

128 gab Samsung 840 pro series (will have 2 more)

And 2 HDD's western digital one black 1tb and one blue 500gb.

Wait til Tuesday and see if the 980 Ti is officially released as reported. Compare benchmarks to the Titan X and decide. That's exactly what I'm doing... although I am going 4K in a few months time. If you're only doing 1080p, the Ti and TiX is wayyyyy too much. I'd go 970 or 980.

as posted.

1080 = 960/970

1440 = 970/980

4k = sli 970/970 or 980ti/titanx

I have included the 960 as it is a good card for 1080 gaming - given its replacing a 660ti it should meet your expectations to replace it with a 960, its about 40% faster than your current card, the 980 is twice as fast as a 960 and the 970 is about 20% slower than the 980. the titan x / 980ti is about 30% faster than a 980.

So I'm hearing the 980 is only going to be around $600 (cdn). I'm thinking I'm going with it. Thanks guy for your input! Sorry I didn't reply. Back earlier I was pretty much drunk the whole weekend (pay'd for that today). I'll keep everyone posted on the build.
