This mb comes with 2x PCI-e x1 and a PCI-e x16 slot running at x4

My question is: if both PCI-e x1 slots are used, does the x16 slot keep running at x4?

Yes I believe so, what are you planning? sometimes you can get a Pentium G3220 and ITX board for a similar price and use full PCI X16

Thanks, already considered it, but only the mATX mb with the same slots + USB 3.0 header and G3220 is >30 € more. It's an upgrade for a crappy HTPC that's TV tuner, IDE card and a GPU for less than 75 €

Ah ok, just wondered why you needed the GPU, if its just for Movies and streaming etc then I guess you dont need a GPU as the AM1 has HDMI on board

Yes, I want to keep the old GPU as spare hardware, if for some rare case the iGPU burns or something like that

Fair enough although if that happens it will take the CPU with it as its the same chip
