Bios Update?

Go to solution Solved by ApolloX75,

So I recently did a gaming computer built for my friend. He ordered the parts and all. Here's the build http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/GCFQnQ.I'm gonna be building it with him. Only thing is I'm not 100% sure the CPU will work with the motherboard without any bios update. I can borrow my friend a10-5800k if I need to do a bios update. Will I need to do a bios update? If yes what's the best way/quickest way to update the bios? Is there anyway to update it without my friends a10-5800k? Thanks for the help!

Its very likely going to need an update to the F6 BIOS in order to support the 860K. Its very easy to do.

Download the file onto a flash drive. Install your friends 5800K since that is supported out of the box. Plug in drive, power on and go directly into the BIOS. There will be an update section, check the manual for the specifics.

Use the new file you put on the USB stick and you're good to go after it restarts.
