Which Cpu will bottleneck less for games?

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

Even for a game that only uses 1 core do you think the 1055t will perform better?

Yes. The single-threaded performance is pretty equal.

I am having trouble deciding between using one of these 2 computers with a Gtx 580, I know it will bottleneck, I just cannot seem to be able to find which will bottleneck less. I think the Core 2 Quad is better with the overclock for lower threaded games but just looking for a second opinion.

Phenom II 1055t @ stock clocks ( I can try to overclock it )

Asus M4A88TD-V Evo/Usb3

2x4gb ddr3 1333mhz

.....or.....

Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.4ghz

Asus P5Q SE

4x2gb ddr2 1066mhz

Both have 750w psu.

Again I know it will bottleneck, this is and will not be my main computer. I have a 3570k and a Gtx 780 already. This is just for fun to play with and leave connected to a tv.

Thanks!!!!!

For anyone who is actually interested. I was able to check the card in both of the setups mentioned above. All I did was a quick test with unigine valley benchmark.

q6600 @ 3.4ghz             (Second Run)
fps:       33                             33.1
min:     15.6                           17.4
max:     57.2                          59.2
score:  1379                          1384

1055t @stock
                                    (Second Run)
fps:    32.1                       32.3
min:   14                          15.9
max:   57                         57.6
Score 1344                     1350

At stock clocks the 1055t performs about the same as the q6600 overclocked to 3.4ghz. I will be using the 1055t with the gtx 580 in hopes of being able to overclock. Thanks to those who recommended the 1055t, I wouldn't have tested it otherwise.
