So I know nothing of computers, but i have a dell presicion workstation t5500. 12gb ram, 2.79 ghz processes and a 2.39ghz processor. It has 148gb storage total (60 usable). GPU is nvidia quadro 4000. I use this computer to play runes of magic and other games. The start up is slow and it cant handle multitasking small things. I would like to know how to overclock my pc ( and if its safe and ok to do) and how to clean the junk out of my computer besides disk defrag and disk cleanup. Please help.

Is it worth much to be able to trade for a gaming pc?And would anyone be interested in trading for it? Because if im not using this pc to full potential id like to trade for a gaming pc.

Pretty low end machine you've got. Doubt anyone would trade.

Can you go into the computer settings and take a screen shot of your specs.

Can you give us more details on it I could determine the value if you told us what exact processor you have and what ram frequency there is.

A program I use to do this without having to remove any hardware is a program called speccy.

The GPU temps make me cringe but much better

Indeed.

@op, its probably the hard drive, that small of an HDD would probably come with slow speeds.

A good bet would be to get an ssd.

If i get a new ssd, how do i install it or u know put it in.

All you do is get a sata cable and find the sata power cable from the PSU, put the ssd in the computer, there should be a spot for it, if not, setting it down on the bottom is fine.

Just plug in both cables, and the sata cable goes from the ssd to the motherboard where the HDD you have is plugged in, there should be multiple slots.

I reccomend you look up a guide.

I'd reccomend a crucial bx/mx100.

Even if you have sata2 ports on the mobo it'll still be a hell of a lot faster than that HDD.

According to what I'm seeing looking around it's worth around 600-700$ I would keep it.

But i want to game on it lol.

It's not a bad rig, btw. The HDD is MORE than likely the culprit.

Dual Xeons, even socket 775 xeons, are pretty dank. You do anything besides game? Like render? Those would be a shame to use for just games. maybe start folding. I doubt the quadro is a good gamer though, you may want to check out other GPUs, like a 750ti if you wwant to chase framerates.

Overall though, pretty nice. Get an SSD, reinstall windows and most programs onto that, and you should be speeding along.

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ct120bx100ssd1is this compatable with my pc.

That should do perfectly.

If you want to be super sure, check that your motherboard has an open one of these

k6EWgbfW-p6ngm-sata-s-.png

and that your psu has one of these:

sata15pin.jpg

If you can find both of those, then you're good to go.

Pretty much every computer has these criteria met, but you can double chekc to be super sure.

You'll need to buy a Sata Cable if you don't have one.

Newegg link to buy one. they're pretty cheap.

The board only has SATA 2 so a high quality SSD would be unneeded.
