What kind of download & upload speed is REALLY needed for gaming/streaming?

Thanks Wingfan, and to all.

Whats up guys,

my internet is at about 45-50 down and 5-8 up and always under 60-70ms.  I'm gaming dota2 online with no hiccups or lag of course, but if i wanted to, what could i downsize to and still play with no problems?  Because lower speed brackets are of course cheaper.

For streaming you want what you have currently. I have no clue about gaming.

The next 'bracket' down would probably be pretty slow

im paying for 50mbps which with tax and fees is 70 dollars a month.  next speed down is 30mbps which will be probably 25-30 dollars cheaper after tax.

You could play with 30, as long as your upload and ping both stay about where they are currently at.

Thats a good saving, how long is the contract for?

I say try it, and if you dont like it switch back. No contract is pretty sweet. Do some speed test and compare when you get the lower speed :)
