Problems with Crysis

Asus z87 sabertooth

Windows 7 64 bit

I have never dealt with this problem before, so I am kinda guessing my way through this.

I do remember there being some problems with crysis running 32-bit on a 64-bit machine. So try and follow this: http://steamcommunity.com/app/17300/discussions/0/864945401070748061/ to see if it works. This should make Crysis run in 64-bit mode (Still assuming it is the first one)

So like most of the other games I've bought so far in the summer sale, I am having problems with Crysis. The game launches in windowed mode, and the moment I try to adjust any setting, the game will crash. I've seen people say it is a problem with AVG, others say its a Windows 7 64 bit issue. I would play it on default settings, but the screen tearing and poor graphics quality is driving me insane. Any suggestions?

Files validated fine

Does it only do it with Crysis (I assume it the first one)?

Could you  post the specs of your PC please?

And yes, post your specs

You should be fine playing Crysis (if it is Crysis 1) on medium settings with this rig. The slowest card I've tested the game on was a GT230 1,5GB ddr2 graphics card and it runned relatively good on medium/low with motionblur and antialiasing off on 1080p. Could you say what kind of monitor you play on and which connection (VGA, HDMI, etc.) you use and which driver version you've got installed?

Edit:

Maybe high settings will also work, depends on the resolution you play on and what your personal goal for minimum fps is.
