Audio popping/static.

Go to solution Solved by Trik'Stari,

Apparently all I needed was a windows update and a restart, because it's gone now.

Weirdness.

So. I'm getting this weird issue, when I am streaming something either through spotify, or watching netflix, or even just watching youtube, and I load or even refresh a webpage, my audio lags and gets staticy, pops, etc, and even video playback lags and stutters and slows down.

I've update all of my drivers, audio and video alike, and problem persists. I am worried that it could be an issue with my motherboard sound, but I'm not sure how to proceed in pinning down exactly what this issue is.

I'm using windows 7.

I'll check that out. What does it do?

checks for latency in audio streams to determine if latency is causing the sound issue

i had a popping/static/skipping issue before

what mobo?

Gigabyte GA-z97mx gaming-5

I had a similar problem on my old gtx660 (using the same motherboard) but it went away when I switched to my gtx970

Well, I can confirm that this is not an issue exclusive to streaming, as it occurs with music I have on my HDD playing through Windows Media player.

Any thoughts? I'd try a sound card of some kind, if I had one.
