You take out the dedicated graphics card, plug the monitor in the motherboard and boot again...

Did you forget a cable? There's supposed to be one huge one and a small one in the motherboard...

can you take a picture of the cables you mean? Im pretty sure I plugged them both in tho

You did it right, didn't see the image in time.

Ok I took out the GPU and let the CPU graphics card do its thing and it works, but im a bit confused about the GPU, can someone tell me about how the GPU should be plugged in?

Put in the graphics card (make sure you got the PCIe slot that has all the pins (read the manual), add the power cables to the GPU, try again.

If it doesn't work, photo!

Literally happened to me on Saturday when I built my new computer. Have you plugged in PWR2? I only plugged in PWR1 and it caused everything to work except the gpu but the fans still spun.

Ok my computer turns on and the monitor works but I am currently installing windows 8 on it but the GPU fans are not spinning, is this normal?

The Asus Strix is designed to work without the fans running unless it's required. Although, I think that behaviour is active once you've installed the Asus software. I guess the fans should work while installing windows at least.

I recommend that you plug the GPU into PCIE2.

Iike he and i said...i too made the mistake and not had that plugged in. Please give it a try and get back to us.

Have you plugged in the 6 or 8 pin connector located at the upper left side of the motherboard? Also when you boot do you see anything on the screen?
