While you could get the 4GB 960s, you're better off with a single 970 - you won't have to deal with SLI issues.

I would get the 970 as it gives you upgradability to a second 970 in sli later.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

That is a lazy thread if I've ever seen one. You don't list what games you play and what your rig is (especially resolution). Hell, your thread consists of 7 'words'.

960 sli wins in some benchmarks, loses in some others. some its performance is way too close to call. don't waste money on a 960 sli. on average you'll get roughly the same performance as a 970 but you'll have to deal with sli scaling in games. and some games have issues with sli at launch. if you go with the 970 you can always sli later for MUCH better performance. games like far cry 4 and tomb raider scale well with a large lead on the 970 but most benchmarks are closer, like the ones i've shown.

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB
