Hey, I'm going to be making a build for my friend who wants to max out GTA V along with some other games. Is 290/290X CF a good option for GTA V or are the drivers bad still?

thanks!

edit: yea nvidia is better for GTA V but i'm just curious

what resolution? If its 1080 there is no need for dual GPU's

Edit: Consider waiting for AMD's Next GPU's, as well as with NVIDIA's Next GPU's. We are on the edge of new hardware!

New AMD drivers literally boosted my FPS by around 20-30.

Then he can see 'in-person' how it performs, always the best way when you can do it :)

For 1080p, don't go with XFire. It consumes more power and just isn't worth it. You really need to explain to him why he doesn't need it.

OR

You should tell him to up his resolution to 1440p or 4k. Then having 2 GPUs would be a good choice.

 My Buyer’s Guide!

He will eventually go for 1440p etc, just for now I'm curious how CF scales on GTA V
