Hi Guys,

Im toying with the idea of changing over to braided cables to make my rig look awesome. I wonder if any of you have used the extensions, are they any good, have you had any issues with them etc.

Also, are the braided cables modular; will the Corsair cables fit a non corsair PSU for example. I know that sounds like a stupid question. But, better to be safe than sorry.

Looking forward to hearing your responses and opinions!

As always, have a great day and keep on Smiling!

If you get full modular cables then you will need to get ones that are compatible with your PSU. You cant just get any cables and plug them in to any PSU. It is why alot of people get extensions. I personally have cable extensions on my rig and thing they look awesome.

I would recommend extensions.

CPU - i7 8700K / Motherboard - ROG Strix Z370 E/ RAM - 32GB Cosair Vengeance DDR / GPU  - GTX 1080ti - EVGA FTW3 / PSU - Seasonic Snow Silent 750W / Cooling - Cryorig H7 Monitor - Acer X34 Predator / Sound - Corsair Void - Case - Meshify C

Hi Nosfy,

Thanks for that. I was leaning more to wards the extension option as to be fair, I'm only need 4 cables. 24pin, 8 pin and 2x 8pin PCIe. but was worried about the excess length / if the extensions had caused any issues with any ones rig.

I was looking at the bitfenix cables, but I can seem to find a UK seller that stocks the 8 pin or PCIes... rather annoyingly.

I got mine from Modguru so I was able to choose the length of the extensions. The modguru stuff is very good but it is abit more expensive (you get what you pay for tho like they say).

Here is are some pics. A before and after. The before one is with Bitfenix extensions.

Heyyo,

What model is your PSU? It is true that modular cables usually end up per-brand or per-model so we will need that information please.

My Android Phone: Exodus Android on my OnePlus One 64bit in Sandstone Black in a Ringke Fusion clear & slim protective case

Is it just me, or do we H440 owners tend to spend tons on aesthetics? :D

To OP: Extensions from Bitfenix are very good quality and much cheaper than custom sleeved alternatives. The extensions they do sell are the 40cm lengths that do take up quite a bit of space, but good cable management still isn't too difficult (assuming you have ample space to do so). In my build I have the Bitfenix orange extensions if you want an idea of how they can look.
